JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — With a new school year around the corner, the Richland School District is testing its 'All-Hazard Plan'. The district organized an active shooter drill at Richland High School on Thursday in collaboration with Tactical Threat Solutions, a company that specializes in safety consulting and emergency preparedness.
"You hope it never comes. But you have to face reality. It has happened in Pennsylvania in schools. And I think a lot of people feel it can't happen here. It can't happen because we have a police department that's 300 feet away. Well, it can happen here. That police department could be somewhere else and those officers could be somewhere else. So we have to be prepared," Arnold Nadonley, Superintendent of Schools for Richland School District, said.
