TOWN OF DICKINSON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A Buffalo man has been indicted for allegedly assaulting an umpire in the Town of Dickinson.
The incident occurred on July 6th after a softball game at the Greenlight Grandslam Park.
Leonard Wackowski followed 68-year-old umpire Carlos Chaluisant to his car and yelled at him about calls he made during the game.
Things escalated when Wackowski allegedly swept Chaluisant's legs out from under him, causing him to fall to the ground, where he struck him causing physical injury.
Wackowski was arraigned in Broome County Court where he pled Not Guilty and remains in the custody of the Broome County Jail.
