HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - High levels of lead have been detected in the water at local schools.
Harpursville Central School District had 20 percent of their sampled water outlets exceed standard lead levels.
Auditors determined that 12 percent of water outlets were not tested and they did not notify parents.
Oxford Academy and Central School District did notify parents of their lead contamination, where auditors determined 56 percent of water outlets were not tested. District officials reported all testing results and posted them to their website as required.
