MILFORD, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A fire devastated the town of Milford last month and a local railroad is holding a fundraiser to support those affected.

On July 18th the flames on Main Street destroyed four buildings, which housed two businesses, and seven residents were displaced from their apartments.

Ten employees lost their jobs as a result of the fire. Residents of the small town created a fire relief fund to support those who lost everything.

The Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley Railroad are holding a two-hour train ride where all of the proceeds will go towards the relief fund. The railroad is owned by the Leatherstocking Railway Historic Society.

President Bruce Hodges says the damage on Main Street was so severe, it may not be able to be rebuilt.
