MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Moviegoers in Milledgeville will soon have to travel further to see the newest movies hitting the silver screen.

AMC Theatres confirms that the Milledgeville AMC Classic 6 will show its last movie on Thursday, closing for good at the end of the business day.

"We thank our Milledgeville 6 guests for their patronage and have appreciated the support from the community," the company said in a statement.

Ticket sales have been suspended for showings beyond Thursday. AMC said that they looked at their theatres and evaluate the locations in thier portfolio.

As they did that, Milledgeville's AMC location on North Columbia Street didn't cut it.
