PERRY, Ga. — A van, being pulled by a tow truck, was on fire on I-75 North on Friday morning near Perry , according to the Perry Fire Department.

Captain Austin Redmond with the Perry Fire Department said the fire happened on the 136 Northbound marker, and only the van was on fire.

He said the fire was called in a little after 11 a.m., and fire crews were able to extinguish it after around four minutes.

Redmond said that two lanes were closed for around 50 minutes, but are now open.

He added that the van was destroyed in the fire, but the tow truck only had minor damage.

Redmond said there were two people in the truck, and they had no injuries. Redmond said there was no one inside the van when it caught fire.

He said the van caught fire while they were driving it with the tow truck
