CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – After a three-day trial where the victim testified, a local man was convicted and sentenced for committing a child sex crime.
Christopher Robert White was sentenced to ten years in prison and five years of probation for committing the crime of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the third degree. Judge Jennifer McCoy handled sentencing, the Ninth Circuit Solicitor's Office said.
Solicitor Wilson stated, "Judge McCoy recognized that this horrific crime robbed a child of their innocence and sentenced him accordingly."
White was found guilty unanimously by the jury. The victim also read a statement revealing the impact the situation has had on her life, according to the solicitor's office.
