CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - State employees from several agencies in the Panhandle were honored today at West Texas A&M University.

Texans Caring for Texans, a nonprofit initiative established nearly three decades ago, hosted the event.

Along with the award ceremony, there were also a number of speakers, including West Texas A&M President Walter Wendler.

Jason Britsch, Texans Caring for Texans committee member, says this ceremony provides a chance to acknowledge the crucial role each state employee plays in the Panhandle.

“This is just such an excellent opportunity to recognize all the hard work and effort that state employees in the Texas Panhandle have done. Their work doesn’t go unnoticed, and they are much appreciated for all the good that they’re doing for the public,” said Britsch.
