ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Mayor Malik Evans announced Thursday that Rochester is making significant progress in improving housing quality and increasing access to home ownership.
Since 2022, the city has supported the development of over 3,000 affordable housing units. The new 'Rehabilitate the Dream' program was launched to help residents become homeowners by transforming vacant properties into fully renovated, owner-occupied homes.
"Our goal is to cater to people whatever choice that they make and give them support in whatever avenue they decide to live because that's their choice," said Mayor Evans.
