ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Rochester Police Department closed the area of Lexington Avenue on Saturday night due to an active hit-and-run investigation.
According to RPD, an unidentified man was walking in the street, in the area of Lexington Avenue and Straub Street, when he was reportedly struck by a dark vehicle, believed to be an older model Jeep. The vehicle left the scene after the incident.
At this time, Lexington Avenue from Brooklyn Street to Maryland Street is blocked off to traffic.
The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of a head injury. At this time, the severity of the injury is unknown.
