FARGO (KVRR) – Another high-ranking member of the Fargo Police Dept. is leaving to take a job in Moorhead.
Captain Bill Ahlfeldt is stepping down to become Deputy Chief of the Moorhead Police Department. He’ll be working alongside Police Chief Chris Helmick, who also left Fargo police and joined the force in April.
Ahlfeldt began his career with Fargo police in 2001. He served in various roles including patrol officer, training officer, personal and property crimes investigator and narcotics investigator.
Moorhead City Manager Dan Mahli says Ahlfeldt is expected to start work on August 25.
Ahlfeldt is the second member of the Fargo Police Department’s Executive Staff to leave in the past four months.
