GOLDEN MEADOW, La. —
A former Golden Meadow chief of police has been arrested and accused of deleting more than 12 years of records.
According to Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, Troy Dufrene, the former chief of police for Golden Meadow, has been arrested and is facing charges of injuring public records, malfeasance in office, and computer tampering. Advertisement
According to Murrill's office, sheriff's officials reported that Dufrene tampered with records within a case management system owned by the sheriff's office and shared with Golden Meadow police.
Murrill's office says Dufrene, who recently lost the police chief election, deleted the files just before he left his position.
