BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
A woman was rescued from inside an SUV in Birmingham Thursday after she drove into a home in the Brook Highland neighborhood.
The woman was driving down Brook Highland Drive when she left the roadway, smashing into a brick wall which partially collapsed onto her vehicle, according to the Cahaba Valley Fire Department.
The woman was pulled from the vehicle and taken to a hospital, where she is expected to survive. No one inside was injured.
Firefighters say that the crash caused a natural gas leak, but no fire was started. Officials are still trying to determine what exactly led to the crash.
