JACKSON CO., Miss. (WLOX) - On Thursday, court officials announced the Mississippi Supreme Court is sending a child sexual assault civil liability case back to Jackson County Circuit Court for further disposition.
“I’m very pleased to see the Mississippi Supreme Court reinstated my client’s civil case against the Ocean Springs School District,” stated attorney Mathew Mestayer. “This will allow my client’s case to proceed forward and have their day in court.”

The case involves an 8-year-old student who was sexually assaulted by her bus driver, Sergio Sandoval, multiple times over several weeks in September 2014. The abuse stopped when the girl told her parents, who then notified the school.
