LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The combination of temperatures above 90 and dew points above 70 will lead to heat index values above 100. There may be some isolated showers and thunderstorms Friday. Better rain chances arrive for the weekend and Monday.

Friday is going to be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, hot, humid and a bit breezy. There is a 10 to 20% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms during the day. The rain chance looks to increase Friday night as a cold front moves into the area. Isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible with large hail and damaging winds the main threats. The tornado threat is low. Low temperatures should be around 60 to 75 with high temperatures ranging from the mid 80s to 103.
