SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - The Chief of Police for Landrum has announced that he has resigned after many years of service.
Jason Coffin has been with the Landrum Police Department for almost 19 years and served as police chief since October 2022.
He has served as a patrolman, PFC, Corporal, Sergeant, and Lieutenant as well as serving as an Evidence Tech, Property Control Officer, and Warrant Officer. Coffin also served as a K-9 Officer for 10 years, according to the City of Landrum.
Seargent Levi Bouwkamp will serve as Interim Police Chief. The City of Landrum said their goal is to keep operations running smoothly as they work to find "the right person to fill the Police Chief position permanently."
