DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Class is officially back in session for Dorchester School District Four.

Students returned to campuses across the district Monday, marking the first day of the 2025–26 school year. District leaders say the year is off to a strong start, with new academic programs, facility improvements and a renewed focus on student support.

“We really can’t ask for a better start to a school year,” Superintendent Jeff Beckwith said. “The kids have been great, the teachers, the staff, everybody’s been great.”

This year, the district is rolling out a new K–12 math curriculum, which was a major focus during summer professional development.
