POCAHONTAS, Iowa (KTIV) - A head-on collision in Northwest Iowa resulted in one death on Thursday, Aug. 7.
The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office says they received several 911 calls at about 12:02 p.m., reporting the crash.
According to the sheriff’s office, it happened north of Pomeroy, in the 60000 block of Iowa State Highway 4, also known as 220th Ave.
When deputies arrived, one of the drivers was deceased and entrapped in their vehicle. The other driver received minor injuries and was examined by ambulance staff before being released. No other injuries were reported.
The drivers have not been identified, and no further details on the crash have been released.
The Iowa State Patrol is still investigating the crash.
