SEATTLE — Police arrested a man accused of offering whippets to Seattle firefighters and repeatedly ramming his car into their fire engine on Aug. 3.

The 38-year-old suspect, from Tacoma, was arrested by Kent police officers on Aug. 6. KING 5 is not naming him as he has not been formally charged.

Police said the man was armed with a gun when he was arrested, but does not have a Concealed Pistol License.

On Aug. 3, the man offered whippets – nitrous oxide used as a recreational drug – to firefighters while in traffic along Second Avenue near Blanchard Street. When the firefighters declined, the suspect was seen on video ramming his car into the fire truck multiple times before driving off.
