FORT CARSON, Colo. (KKTV) - Fort Carson’s Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) is investigating after suspicious packages were found on the Mountain Post Thursday afternoon.

In a Facebook post made by the base at around 3:15 p.m., Fort Carson said the DES had been made aware of “suspicious packages” at Crows Foot Bridge, near the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team’s footprint area.

Officials said an Explosive Ordnance Disposal group and Fort Carson DES are evaluating the situation, and members of the community have been asked to avoid the Crows Foot Area on Butts Road until further notice.

Emergency crews are in the area redirecting traffic as the situation continues, and Fort Carson said more information will be provided as it becomes available.
