Katie Wilson, the left-wing challenger and first-time candidate leading the Seattle mayoral primary, has widened her lead over Mayor Bruce Harrell as last- minute ballots are tallied, all but ensuring that she’ll enter the fall campaign as the surprising favorite.
In the race for King County executive, Metropolitan King County Councilmember Girmay Zahilay also stretched out his primary election night lead and, after Thursday’s vote count, sits 12 points ahead of his colleague and November rival, Councilmember Claudia Balducci. The results portend fall campaigns with younger, millennial candidates — Wilson is 43, Zahilay is 38 —
