GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Wisconsin Humane Society is putting out an urgent plea for volunteer foster parents.
This is especially true for cats and kittens to alleviate the overcrowding at area shelters.
On Tuesday alone, 100 cats and kittens came in as surrenders or strays across the state.
Right now, the Wisconsin Humane Society is caring for 1500 animals, including nearly 1100 cats.
This represents about 250 more cats in care on a daily basis compared to 2024.
All of this is causing shelter space to become incredibly tight.
“Our foster program, everyone in there, all you have to do is provide a loving home for them. We provide the food, we provide the medicine, we provide the cat litter, we provide everything else they need. All you need to do is provide the love,” says Corey V
