Marshall County Schools celebrated the grand opening of their new Central Pre-K building just in time for the school year to begin.
Thursday's ribbon-cutting event marked the completion of the $5 million project, which took more than a year and a half to finish.
More than 20 children aged 3 to 4 will start their school journey Friday in a facility designed for students, including those with special needs.
"The earlier we intervene and support the development, the better the outcomes," said Cindy Wigley, Marshall County Schools Superintendent of Education.
The 5,700-square-foot building includes a sensory room, dining area, meeting rooms for parents, a large outdoor space for play, and a built-in storm shelter.
