DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) -- To allow for the simultaneous introduction of both the urban and rural microtransit service zones, the launch date of Decatur Moves is being postponed.
On Aug. 6, the City of Decatur carried out of a successful dry run of the Decatur Moves microtransit service. The test event provided an opportunity to demonstrate vehicle readiness, driver preparedness and technology integration. The test run was conducted in an effort to generate continued excitement around the future of public transit in Macon County.
After the dry run, the City of Decatur and MV Transit continued to coordinate with regional partners and stakeholders. And after careful thought and consideration, the decision has been made to move forward with a unified launch of both the urban and rural service
