Thousands of rubber ducks were dumped from the Columbus Drive Bridge, splashing into the Chicago River to kick off the 20th annual Chicago Ducky Derby Thursday.

Visitors attended at Chi Duck Derby with venders and Duck Derby merchandise, each purchase helping raise nearly $600,000 for Special Olympics Illinois, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

At the entrance, a balloon arch with a “Chi Duck Derby” sign welcomed attendees to Pioneer Court, where the day’s festivities kicked off with excitement.
