PALISADE, Colo. (KREX) — On Wednesday and continuing into the weekend, Palisade Peach Days will host kickoff events for the 57th Annual Palisade Peach Festival taking place on Aug. 15 to Aug. 16.

On Wednesday, the first kickoff event began in downtown Palisade with Walkabout Wednesday, where artists are showcased in the downtown plaza from 5 pm. to 8 p.m. The event featured live music and paintings, vendors selling art and showcased the local art scene. The next Walkabout Wednesday will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Going into the weekend, in the downtown area of Palisade, Thursday events for Palisade Peach Days include: • An Ice Cream Social at 5:30 p.m. • A Guns and Hoses Tug of War at 6 p.m., in which the Palisade Fire and Police Department will face off in a round of tug-of-w
