DELTA, Colo. (KREX) — At 5 p.m., a brush fire started in the town of Delta on F Road and east of Delta High School, located at 1400 Pioneer Road. Delta County Sheriff's Office and the Delta Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire, promptly closing F Road from the intersection of Pioneer Road to the intersection of 1740 Road in the east and issuing pre-evacuation orders.

As of 6:30 p.m., officials announced that the Delta Fire Department had gotten the fire under control and pre-evacuation orders were lifted in the area. The fire department is working to address remaining hot spots.

There is no longer a threat to residences from the fire.
