ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - New tariffs going into effect this week have added to several months of changing trends businesses like Brett Bartrum’s have learned to live with.
Bartrum owns Juiced Wheels in St. Charles, which specializes in e-bikes. He said that nearly all e-bikes sold in the U.S. are manufactured in China, even those with U.S. labels. Despite a spike in demand during the Covid-19 pandemic, he said that recent sales have dropped off in large part due to price increases from tariffs on Chinese goods.
“You always have to stay agile and be ready to change it up,” Bartrum said.
