Fresno County Superior Court Judge Arlan Harrell is moving up to another court.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Thursday that he has appointed Harrell to serve as an Associate Justice on the Fifth District Court of Appeal.
Driving the news: Harrell has served in the Fresno County Superior Court since 2006, following three years as a Court Commissioner. • Before his time at the Fresno County Superior Court, Harrell was a Deputy District Attorney for the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office from 1994 to 2004 and an Associate at Lang, Richert & Patch from 1992 to 1994. • He received a Juris Doctor degree from UC Davis. • Harrell is filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Associate Justice Charles Poochigian.
