MARSHALL, TX (KTAL/KMSS) – The Marshall Mavericks are coming off a 10-3 season and the first year under the direction of head coach Jason Hammett. While he is no longer a new face, there are many guys on the field that will be.
"Graduated 14, lost 17 starters from our team last year," Hammett said.
After one of the most successful seasons in a few years at Marshall, the Mavericks find themselves replacing some key roles.
"People got to step up now this year. That's all that is," senior quarterback Alton Henderson said.
That would seem simple enough, but the fate of the season relies on that.
"Key to success is going to be leadership and how we respond to adversity," Hammett said.
