SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The second annual Back to School Giveaway featuring free school supplies and haircuts is on Aug. 9 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

"My purpose was, was always to give back to the community. I've always wanted to be someone that gave back," said Julian Hinojos, one of the founders of the giveaway.

Hinojos decided that he wanted to have a Back to School Giveaway featuring all of his friend sponsors to make the first year's event. The event began with 100 backpacks this year; Hinojos wanted to double the number of backpacks.

The first year, the event was "small" according to Hinojos, but they ended with one backpack left from the 100 they started the event with.
