ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- An Elmira man will serve time behind bars after being sentenced for his role in a hammer attack that sent one person to the hospital last November.
Jacob Bulkley was sentenced on Monday after he pleaded guilty to Attempted Assault in June. He was originally charged with Attempted Murder, Attempted Assault and Assault.

According to the Chemung County District Attorney's Office, he will serve 6 years in prison, followed by 5 years of post release supervision. An Order of Protection was also issued on behalf of the victim.
