WEST FARGO — With the start of school just weeks away, many parents of first-time drivers are feeling nervous.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, Vision Zero hosted a pair of safety events for North Dakota teen drivers in West Fargo.

Teens who signed up rotated through hands-on traffic safety activities, including controlled driving courses and the rollover simulator.

The goal was to get teens to practice safe driving habits early.

“Every time of the year, it’s great to learn these lessons, but back to school, especially because there’s nothing more terrifying than a high school parking lot,” said Leah Kelm, regional outreach coordinator for Vision Zero.

About 200 teens signed up for the event.
