Keep Morehouse Beautiful holds luncheon as Bastrop begins cleanup

Bastrop, La. (KNOE) - Keep Morehouse Beautiful’s inaugural luncheon was held in the center of a new cleanup effort in the parish.

Executive Director of Keep Louisiana Beautiful, Susan Russell was the keynote speaker and she says she is excited about what Bastrop is doing for beautification.

“To change people’s behaviors, to change the attitude, to change the culture, we need to bring awareness and we need to educate people, so having the city of Bastrop involved at this level is key because change happens at the local level,” Russell said.

Bastrop Mayor Mark Moore says, the cleanup will be key to boost the local economy.

“We’re having to clean up has been gone. I mean, it’s been bad for years and if we want to come get business, come here. We have to make sure our streets are clean,” M
