FRUITA, Colo. (KREX) - The school bell for the year has rung, but some seats are empty due to the declining enrollment.
There is concern about what the future of school education is going to be like in the near future.
Dawn McCary, a teacher for 20 years with Discovery Kids Learning Center, states, “Classroom numbers being low is sometimes a teacher's dream, but obviously I would like to fill my classroom.“
Teaching is a career for those who love to guide the next generation to one of the most important words in the English language; knowledge.
But for the last six years, enrollment numbers have been declining.
Kari Jones, the director of Discovery Kids Learning Center, says, “We have a classroom for pre-K, which is four and five-year-olds. And normally that classroom can run at a 25
