BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Beaufort County man is behind bars on numerous sex related charges.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Darren Syers on multiple counts of statutory rape of a child under 15, indecent liberties with a child, and other sex offenses.

Warrants list Ayers as living in Aurora, and say the offenses happened on different dates in 2020.

He was indicted by a grand jury in July and is due back in court on August 11th.

His bond was set at $75,000.
