LATROBE, Pa. (BLACK AND GOLD NATION) - T.J. Watt's contract extension was believed to be the last major domino of the Pittsburgh Steelers' offseason that needed to be done before training camp. As less than one week remains in Latrobe, two new contract surprises are arising.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, veteran defensive tackle Cam Heyward and kicker Chris Boswell are both seeking new deals. Both players have two years remaining on their current contracts.
Heyward just signed a three-year, $45 million extension last training camp. Three years ago, Boswell signed a four-year, $20 million deal that at the time tied him with Justin Tucker as the highest-paid kicker.
When comparing their production level to other players of the same position, both are significantly underpaid.
