MINDEN, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - Sara McDaniel gained national acclaim after appearing on HGTV and the Magnolia Network and highlighting her mission to makeover her hometown of Minden.

"About five years ago, if you would have walked down West Union Street, it was very much blighted," McDaniel said.

She purchased and renovated several properties along West Union: The Creekside Apartments, The Villas at Spanish Court, and The Fuller White House. However, her latest project could have the biggest impact, a 1920's craftsman style bungalow.

"Supposedly drugs were being run out of this house, all of the copper was cut out," McDaniel explained. "It was destroyed on the inside."
