A long-standing Anchorage family business is getting statewide recognition. The Mosesian family, the force behind Bell’s Nursery, has been named Alaska’s 2025 Farm Family of the Year — an honor that celebrates their decades-long contribution to agriculture in the Last Frontier.

Founded in 1976, Bell’s Nursery has become a year-round staple for Alaskans. From vibrant poinsettias in winter to tomatoes, cucumbers, figs, and even grapes used for local wine, the family-run operation has helped expand what many thought possible in Alaska’s short growing season.

Mike Mosesian, who leads the business, says the award is meaningful — and overdue.
