VERNON, Conn. — Following a multi-agency investigation, a former Connecticut insurance producer has been charged for his alleged securities violations and criminal activity.

After being arrested in June, Ian Pierce, who used to live in Tolland, must also pay a $100,000 fine and $164,000 in restitution, according to a state release this week.

The joint investigation was conducted by the Connecticut Insurance Department, the state Department of Banking and the Connecticut State Police Statewide Organized Task Force.

CID first revoked Pierce’s insurance license in 2021 when its Investigation Division found that he had improperly accessed funds from a client’s life insurance policy and misappropriated premium payments.
