AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo City Council has extended its budget workshop to next Friday after discovering a potential shortfall in the city’s general fund.
The council had initially planned to conclude budget discussions today, but more time is needed to address rising costs and balance the 2025-26 budget.
"There's just so much," said Don Tipps, Councilmember for Place 2. "Now we've got a time deadline that we're against and we're faced with. And I appreciate you recognizing the fact that we're in an impossible situation with this council."
