BANDON, Ore. (WILX) - Brooke Biermann played 41 holes of golf today, and with her final shot of the day, she earned the right to play another round tomorrow at the USGA Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes in Oregon.
After grinding out a victory in 22 holes of match play in the Round of 32 earlier Thursday, Biermann headed right back out to the course for the Round of 16.
Biermann was 2-down to Cindy Hsu after 14 holes, but won holes 15 and 17 to tie the match. After missing a short birdie putt that could have ended the match on the 18th hole, Biermann sank a longer par putt on the 19th hole to take the win and advance to the quarterfinals on Friday.
Not to be outdone, Michigan State rising senior Taylor Kehoe followed up an 18-hole Round of 32 victory with a 23-hole marathon in the Round
