CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A motorcyclist died after crashing into a car Thursday afternoon, the Cincinnati Police Department said.
The incident occurred on the 200 block of West 9th Street just after 1 p.m. Police said that a motorcycle was being operated by a 29-year-old who was headed west on 9th Street.
According to a news release from police, the motorcyclist ran a red light and hit a Honda Civic travelling south on Plum Street.
The motorcyclist was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The Honda was pushed into two parked cars nearby and the driver was taken to UC Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Excessive speed is a possible factor in the crash, police said.
