NEW ORLEANS — It's been nearly three months since the historic , and only one escapee, Derrick Groves, remains on the run.

On Thursday, Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson spoke exclusively with CBS News about her leadership at OJC, the jailbreak, plumbing issues and the mistaken release.

He (Groves) shouldn't even have been here. He should have been in Angola,” Hutson said.

Hutson says officials believe Groves was very much involved in planning the escape and that the

“We know he’s getting help also out there in the community, which is a little shocking that given what his history is," Hutson said.

Despite the challenges, Hutson say they’re confident Groves will be found.

“I do believe we’ll find him. It’s just a matter of time.”
