CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — A current sergeant from the Camden County Sheriff's Office was indicted on 13 charges related to excessive force and false records, announced the US Attorney's office on Thursday. The sergeant indicted was the same man who shot and killed a Black man during a violent traffic stop in 2023.
Buck William Aldridge, 42, of St. Mary's, is facing charges of deprivation of rights under color of law and falsifying records. The indictment alleges Aldridge used excessive force during four separate arrests while working as a deputy sheriff.
In addition to using excessive force, Aldridge is also accused of preparing multiple misleading reports to justify his use of force to the sheriff's office.
