GREENSBORO, N.C. — If you're friends with Wilmer Jones on social media, it's obvious to see his kids were his world.
That world went dark when someone shot and killed him. It's also leaving a hole in the hearts of those who knew him best, like Alisha Williams.
Williams said she and Jones had a deep connection. A connection so deep, she had a feeling something bad had happened to him.
"He had just got off of work, went home, took a nap, and that was the last I'd heard from him… at 4:17 pm," Williams said.
She said she asked him if he was okay but he never responded. Less than an hour later, police found him with a gunshot wound. He died at the hospital.
"I was… I was totally shocked. I was hurt. I was hurt. I didn't know what to do," Williams said.
