LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With fewer buses for fewer students, the long pick up lines at Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) campuses were a big story last year.
As the first day of school kicked off Thursday there were a lot of smiles from students as they waited for their parents to pick them up. But before class was dismissed, the well known traffic nightmare around Audubon Traditional Elementary had already begun.
"It's to be expected since it's the first day," Parent Bree Linton said. "But I just feel like it's going to be better than last year. Living back here was not great last year. But after today I feel like we'll get it together."
Around 2:45 p.m. there were multiple long lines of parents in their cars on both Hess Lane and Pindell Avenue waiting patiently to pick up their child
