LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The beginning of the first day back to school started for elementary school students with fear after a shooting near their bus stop.
Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) released surveillance pictures of the suspect, holding a gun in the middle of the road at West Chestnut and 10th Streets, Thursday morning.
The suspect fled the area on foot after the shooting. Police don't believe the students were the target and no one was hurt.
This area is a block away from Central High School and Coleridge-Taylor Montessori Elementary School.
JCPS school board chairman, Dr. Corrie Shull told WHAS11 the district is working with LMPD to find out who the suspect is.
