BRISTOL, Conn. —
The 12-year-olds from Braintree, Massachusetts battled hard through extra innings to defeat Bedford, New Hampshire to advance to the Little League World Series.
With the game tied at 2, a wild pitch would ultimately lead to Braintree scoring the winning run. Braintree's Frankie Fasoli's heads up baserunning forced New Hampshire's catcher to overthrow home plate allowing Fasoli to score the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning, sending Braintree to Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
"I thought I was going to be out. So I turned back, then I saw it go by him- the ball- and I just ran home," Fasoli said of the game winning play after the game.
The team from Bedford, New Hampshire, however, managed to do what no other team in the regional tournament had been able to do,
