TUNNEL HILL, Ga. — About 20 dogs were seen outside in unsafe, unsanitary conditions, with several others found inside a hazardous, abandoned building in Catoosa County, according to the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) Law Enforcement Division.
The disturbing discovery led to a large-scale animal rescue, with GDA officers removing 32 dogs from the Tunnel Hill property on Aug. 5. The department says the animals were living in conditions that posed serious risks to their health and safety.
“I’m proud of the great work our officers did to remove these dogs from a dangerous situation, and we’re grateful for the assistance of Catoosa County Animal Control, Atlanta Humane Society, and our other partners, whose support was essential to the success of this operation,” said Georgia Agric
